George Gregory of Vancouver B.C. Canada has been a roadable aircraft fan since reading an article on Molt Taylor in "Air and Space Magazine" in 1996. He is active in the homebuilt aircraft movement, being a member of Chapter 85 of the Recreational Aircraft Association in greater Vancouver. He serves as Art Director of the RAA publication "Recreational Flyer Magazine". George is also a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
He has very kindly provided some of his work for presentation in Roadable Times.
"I've worked up some ideas of my own, but it's preliminary - I'd like to develop the idea further as time allows. I'm not a trained aerodynamicist, but have studied enough to believe the attached idea is feasible at least in a general sort of way."

"The guiding principle is to have a craft that is safe to drive and safe to fly. it must convert in a few minutes with no tools. It has to be convenient to use, and have a reasonable (60 lb) baggage carrying capacity, with accessable baggage and engine compartments. Ready egress is an important reqirement."
George Gregory writes "An Overview of Roadable Aircraft" only to find the result is a reminder from the past.
"One thing that strikes me, the more I toy with the idea of Roadable Aircraft, the more I come up with something that looks like one of Molt Taylor's creations. It is not because I've set out to copy him, but in an evolutionary sense, as I've examined the compromises and shapes that the configuration dictates, it comes out looking something like Taylor's Imp. The exceptions are the canard to hold the front wheels, and perhaps an added bit of wing area. Personally, I think Taylor was a genius."
