Most of the time this website is devoted to providing pictures and reports of experiments and designs of flying cars and roadable
aircraft created by people seriously trying to resolve the problems associated with this concept.
However, every now and then it is a little diversion to review a design that is strictly fantasy, one that is clearly the product of the mind
of an artist, not an experimenter. Such is the case of this one that appeared on the cover of the magazine Mechanix Illustrated in
March of 1957. The image is all we have to show you. Whatever technical information the magazine may have offered in its pages has been
lost to us. We just do not know how anybody planned to power and control the airship illustrated here. As an airfoil, it is certainly
pretty scary.
On the other hand, maybe someday . . . .
