The Spring 2001 edition of the "Far West Bulletin" reported that the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, Point Mugu California, had entered into a "Co-operative Research & Development Agreement" with Roadable Aircraft International Inc. for the development of a flying car. These vehicles are to be VTOL rotor-wing vehicles that do not need any assembly time when switching from ground to air mode. The report says RAI is combining proven technology in the areas of design, control, materials and modern engines, with advances in computer technology and materials engineering. The Far West Bulletin declares that they have turned the potential of flying cars into reality. The site may be reached at - -
