Trek started developing the "Solotrek XFV" (Exo-Skeletor Flying Vehicle) ducted-fan personal VTOL in 2002. It was a craft
designed to perform like a helicopter, provide the operator with a birds-eye view from the cockpit, be economical to operate, fly quietly,
and be easy to maintain and store. Work on the "Solotrek" was discontinued in April 2003 when the company was re-organized. The aircraft is
no longer being developed, however Trek Aerospace did continue with their program of aircraft development, focusing on several new products
including the "Springtail".
